Day 1:
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to your hotel. Hotel

Day 2: CUSCO
Transfer from your hotel to the airport for your flight to Cuzco.
Upon arrival in Cuzco, we will meet you at the airport and transfer
you to your hotel. Afternoon guided city tour of the four ruins
nearby; the Sacsayhuaman Fortress overlooking the city of Cuzco,
a pre Inca architectural masterpiece; Kenko, a rock sanctuary
whose main attraction is the monolithic altar representing a
puma, the red Fortress of Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay, a beautiful
fountain fed by a spring forming a series of basins continue
to the city of Cuzco; the Main Square, the Cathedral and the

Day 3: SACRED VALLEY
TOUR
After breakfast, we will pick you up for a full day tour of
the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Visit the village of Pisac,
founded during colonial times and set at the foot of a hill
crowned by the remains of an Inca city. On Sundays, Tuesdays
and Thursdays, in the main square, Indians barter their products
and artisans from all over the area sell their woven alpaca
wool blankets and ponchos, engraved gourds, antique reproductions,
jewelry, etc. On Sundays it is also the meeting place for mayors
from all the villages in the region, dressed in their traditional
costumes to attend morning mass. After lunch, we will visit
Ollantaytambo, the only Inca town which was not overthrown by
the conquistadores, and explore the ruins which tower above
it. Our last stop is the small town of Chinchero and there unique

Day 4: MACHU PICCHU
Transfer to the train station for the early morning departure
to Aguas Calientes and then a bus ride up to the timeless ruins
of Machu Picchu ruins. Upon arrival to the ruins, you will be
given a guided visit of Machu Picchu for about 2 hours. There
are many theories as to the origins of Machu Picchu but three
of the most popular ideas include a temple to the sun, a fortress
against the jungle inhabitants or a sanctuary for the Incas.
This beautiful city has houses, temples, warehouses, a large
central square, all connected by narrow roads and steps, and
is surrounded by terraces cut into the mountain side which were
used for agriculture. After the tour, free time to enjoy this
magical and spiritual wonder. After the tour, you will have
a few hours to explore at your own pace before taking the afternoon
bus back down to Aguas Calientes and your hotel. The Machu Picchu

Day 5: AGUAS CALIENTES-CUSCO
Free day in Aguas Calientes to return to Machu Picchu, relax
in the hot springs, or take the short hike to the private waterfall
reserve of Mandor Pampa. Afternoon train to Cusco and transfer

Day 6: CUSCO-PUERTO
MALDONADO-ECO AMAZONIA LODGE-MONKEY ISLAND
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado.
Upon arrival, transfer to the boat dock where you will board
the boat for the trip down the Madre de Dios River. Along the
way, you will have the chance to observe alligators, turtles,
many species of birds, and a variety of flora and fauna. Arriving
at the lodge, you will be directed to your comfortable bungalow,
followed by a welcome drink and lunch. After lunch, you will
be accompanied by the lodges professional guide to Monkey Island
which is only 5 minutes from the lodge. Located in the middle
of the Madre de Dios River, Monkey Island hosts a multitude
of Monkey species such as the Spider Monkey, Achuni, Squirrel
Monkey, and the little Leoncito (little lion). The trip to the
island affords beautiful sightseeing of the local landscape
as well as the flora and fauna that they host. And, to top it
all off, there is that breathtaking jungle sunset.

Day 7: COCHA PERDIDA
(LOST LAKE)
After breakfast, we set forth through the virgin jungle led
by the professional guide. Todays hike will take you to the
Cocha Perdida. This site effectively constitutes a unique protected
Ecosystem, refuge, and Feeding ground for the great diversity
of wildlife including the Otter, Turtles, Alligators, Tapir,
and Jaguar. There are also many birds with striking plumage
as well as an ample variety of species of fish.
This area is and distinctly particular to EcoAmazonia Reserve,
by virtue of having remained altogether unaltered, and conveniently
surrounded by lard swamps and wetlands. One of the highlights
of today’s tour is certainly the ascent to the Mirador
built atop the the greatest of treetops in the Amazon forest,
the revered Shihauhuaco from where a grand view of the great
and magical forest can be admired. This is complimented by a
pleasant canoe ride around the lake, after which we return to
the lodge and lunch.
In the course of the afternoon, optional visit to a local family,
the Botanical Gardens, and an eco-swimming pool are available
to the guests.

Day 8: BRIOLO &
GAMITANA RIVERS-TAMBOPATA ECOLOGICAL RESERVE-RAIN FOREST-CLOUD
FOREST
After breakfast, we set off on yet another excursion through
the magical jungle. First we navigate along the Madre de Dios
River until reaching the trailhead where our hike to the Briolo
& Gamitana Rivers begins. Both of these rivers originate
in the heart of the virgin jungle and their numerous meanders
and large winding channels form large navigable waterways.
We return aboard a canoe, closely observing along the way an
abundance of wildlife plus flora and fauna. Returning to the
lodge, we will have dinner and then spend a last quite evening
in the jungle.

Day 9: PUERTO MALDONADO-CUSCO
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight
to Cusco and transfer to your hotel. Hotel Garcilaso

Day 10: CUSCO-MANU
We leave Cusco by private bus for the Kosnipata Valley. We will
be making several stops along the way to enjoy the landscape
and take photos. We will see the colonial town of Paucartambo
and Hejanco viewpoint which is one of the highest places in
the world. This is also the boundary of the Manu National Park.
After lunch we continue our descent into the cloud forest where
we will see many beautiful Orchids and possibly the Deanteojes
Bear, the only Bear in South America. We stop for a short time
for you to see the Cock of the Rock in the River San Pedro.
From here we travel for another 8 hours, arriving at our lodge
at Pillcopata where we will stop for the night.

Day 11: MANU
In the morning you have a choice of activities. You can go horseback
riding or shoot the class 3 rapids on the Tono River. In the
afternoon we will go hiking in the Villa Carmen where we will
look for reptiles, mammals, and the many species of birds. This
is a great time to enjoy the raw beauty of the jungle. We then
return to the lodge in the evening for dinner.

Day 12: MANU
After breakfast, we will take the bus to Shintuya. The local
people will be waiting at the river with our boat for the 2
hour trip down Madre de Dios. Along the way, you will see many
forms of wildlife as well as the lovely landscape. After lunch,
we will climb to the canopy platform where we can enjoy the
jungle from a different viewpoint. In the evening we will be
joined by the native people who will share stories about their
culture.

Day 13: MANU
After breakfast we will then head back down the river having
yet another opportunity to spot wildlife native to the jungle.
You may even get a rare sighting of the majestic Jaguar. After
leaving the boat, we will take the bus back to Villa Carmen,
our final campsite.

Day 14: MANU-CUSCO
After breakfast, you will have the morning to mingle with the
local people and possible purchase the unique crafts of this
area. After lunch, we board the bus for the long ride back to

Day 15:
Transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and then Iquitos.

Day 16: IQUITOS-CEIBA
TOPS
Reception at the airport, brief city orientation and transfer
to the Explorama dock. Twenty-five mile journey down the Amazon
River to Ceiba Tops, where rooms with air conditioning and private
bathrooms provide the comforts of home in the rainforest. Afternoon
hike in the beautiful primary rainforest reserve surrounding
the lodge which includes many huge trees festooned with epiphytes.
After dinner there may be local flute or guitar music at the
El Toucan Bar or the guides are always ready to relate some

Day 17: CEIBA TOPS
Morning boat ride, spotting for dolphins, to visit a small village
of Yagua Indians where your guide will explain the local Yagua
Indian culture and how it was affected by the arrival of Europeans
and the passing of time. There will also be an opportunity to
see some of the local crafts and for a demonstration of the
blowgun which some of the Yagua elders still use for hunting.
Afternoon walking excursion to the neighboring town of Indiana.
Originally a Franciscan mission, Indiana has grown into a large
river community with its own market, high school and small hospital.

Day 18: CANOPY WALKWAY
TOUR
Early morning transfer by boat to the beginning of your tour.
After breakfast, you will take a short walk to the start of
the Canopy Walkway. This is the longest of its kind in South
America. After lunch, you will return by boat to your lodge.

Day 19: CEIBA TOPS-IQUITOS
Your choice of morning walking or boating excursion to further
enjoy the rainforest and Amazon River. Afternoon transfer to

Day 20: IQUITOS-LIMA
Today is a free day to enjoy the city of Iquitos. We recommend
a trip to the zoo or the town built right on the water. Afternoon
transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima and then home.
